Fanny

I have experience helping students of various ages learn and build confidence in their abilities. I have provided one-on-one French tutoring, regularly helped my three younger siblings with their homework, and often assist classmates at the University of Toronto with engineering, mathematics, and science concepts. I also worked as a tennis camp counselor for two summers, where I taught and supervised groups of over 30 children aged 4–12. Through these experiences, I have developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt my explanations to each student’s learning style.

Hi! My name is Fanny, I have always enjoyed science and mathematics and I am now a Materials Science Engineering student at the University of Toronto. I am also fully bilingual, so I can teach in both French and English. For me, learning should not only be about finding the right answer or memorizing a method, it should rather be about understanding the fundamental concepts behind a problem. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking the time to understand why a solution works rather than simply following a set of steps. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students can progress at their own pace, breaking down complex topics into smaller ideas and using different analogies to approach them. My goal is to create a personalized learning experience for each student so they develop the confidence to solve problems independently.
